We provide critical items the soldiers need such as: Winter clothing Medical equipment Stress relief items Sleeping Equipment & Medicine The current war, which has been coined as the “Simchat Torah War”, began after the Hamas terrorist invasion that occurred on October 7th. Simchat Torah is a traditional holiday following the festival of Sukkot, this holiday is one of the most joyous holidays on the calendar. On Simchat Torah Jews come together to dance and sing with Torahs that have completed another cycle of reading. We have festive meals and enjoy communal celebrations. It was on this holiday, which was also the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur war, that Hamas infiltrated 11 towns near the Gazan border to specifically target and kill over 1,300 civilians in the most torturous ways, kidnapping over 200 hostages. Forensic evidence has now shown that civilians murdered range from 3 months old to over 80 years old, and that they were tortured before dying, some being burned alive whiled tied to their children, others shot all over their bodies before succumbing to their wounds, even children and babies beheaded. In response to the atrocious war crimes committed by Hamas, the IDF mobilized their forces and recruited reserves during Shabbat (Sabbath - the traditional Jewish day of rest, which coincided with Simchat Torah this year). Soldiers did not have time to pack or prepare items they needed, they reported to duty immediately. Following increased tensions in the north and the south, the IDF has mobilized over 360,000 reservists, causing a supply chain gap. Beginning October 8th, we have worked tirelessly to bring soldiers in the north everything they need.
