Facing the Impact of War Together Elah Center for Coping with Loss has launched an emergency campaign to raise 1 million dollar. This amount will enable us to give individual and group therapy to a wide range of individuals, groups and communities. Living Under Constant Stress Nearly everyone in Israel is paying an emotional and phy4sical price as a result of the ongoing war. Men and women, young and old, Jews and Arabs, religious and secular—the horrific scenes of October 7, the continued rocket attacks, and the sense of existential threat are affecting us all. The feelings of insecurity and uncertainty have a profound impact on our mental well-being. For those who were already coping with emotional challenges before the war, the emergency situation often leads to a worsening of their condition. At the same time, many others who previously experienced stability and calm, now find themselves in a reality where stress and trauma have become an inseparable part of daily life. Elah's Critical Role Even before the war, Israel’s mental health system was on the brink of collapse. On the one hand, the public system suffers from chronic underfunding, cannot meet the growing demand, and struggles to retain its most skilled professionals. On the other hand, the expensive private system remains out of reach for vulnerable populations. In this reality, the role of the Elah Center is essential to ensure that no one is left without support. Founded in 1979, the Elah Center provides a compassionate ear, professional emotional care, and support throughout complex coping processes to those who fall outside existing systems. Over nearly 50 years of activity, the organization has treated tens of thousands of Israelis through a broad network of therapists and diverse therapeutic approaches. Unprecedented Demand Demand for our services is currently at its peak, and we anticipate a further increase once the fighting ends. We strive to ensure that everyone who needs our help receives it quickly and free of charge. Your contribution to our emergency campaign is therefore more important than ever. With your support, we can ensure that all those affected—Holocaust survivors, the elderly and the young; individuals, groups, and communities—receive the professional care they need to cope with this prolonged and difficult reality. What Your Donation Makes Possible • The cost of one in-home therapy session for Holocaust survivors, elderly individuals, or homebound wounded persons is $ 130. With $ 2,600, we can provide a basic care package of 20 sessions. • The cost of one therapy session in our clinics or via Zoom is $ 110. With $ 2,200, we can provide a basic care package of 20 sessions. • The cost of one group session is $ 480. With $ 5,760, we can provide a basic package of 12 group sessions for approximately 12 participants per group. Every donation can make a meaningful difference for an individual, a group, or an entire community. We thank you for your attention and consideration.
