Funding campaign to equip and train Bedouin Resilience teams in times of emergency
Donors: 702
Help save lives under attackThere are currently 14 Community Resilience Teams (CRTs) operating in the Negev region, including approximately 130 volunteers, who provide an initial response to approximately 75,000 people spread out in communities without protection and without a standard public protection infrastructure.
In the event of an alarm or an incident, the team volunteers go into action and provide first aid, coordination, and guidance until emergency services arrive. In many communities where public protection is not available, local emergency response teams are the first line of defense.
Reality under attack | Ongoing state of emergencyUnder the threat of Iranian missiles, the teams are operating under a severe shortage of personal and team equipment. Without basic equipment and professional training, it is impossible to provide a life-saving response in an emergency. We have teamed up with our partners: the Neve Midbar Regional Council, the Neve Midbar Community Center, the Regional Council for Unrecognized Villages, and Rabbis for Human Rights to work together to equip and train the resilience teams, to ensure an immediate and effective response in an emergency.
Rescue, rescue and emergency medical treatment are not a privilege – they are a basic condition for saving lives in an emergency !
Through your donation we will be able to• Strengthening, equipping, and professionally training the health teams operating in the southern region
• Provision of personal and team equipment for emergency response in the field
• Training resilience teams for life-saving operations during emergencies and routine operations
• Shortening response time to incidents and providing immediate assistance in the field
• Increasing the chances of survival in areas without sufficient public protection
Every donation strengthens the first line of defense and enables a life-saving response in real time.
Emergency activityThe current campaign joins a series of emergency situations in recent years in which we have worked alongside communities in the Negev. In each of these situations, the civilian assistance system was expanded and adapted to the changing needs on the ground, based on Jewish-Bedouin partnership and a commitment to mutual responsibility in the southern region.
Since October 2023, a large-scale emergency response system has been activated, which included the distribution of approximately 150 tons of dry food and essential equipment, the provision of medical and emergency equipment, the strengthening and equipping of resilience teams, and the training of approximately 2,000 first aid providers in the community.
The accumulated experience makes it possible to act quickly even now, but the scope of the challenges requires an immediate expansion of equipment and capabilities.
In the reality of an ongoing emergency, strengthening resilience teams is a condition for a life-saving response on the ground.
Your donation allows us to continue operating in the field.
