The average cost for individually tailored treatment and support interventions for children, young people, and accompanying families dealing with severe anxiety and trauma is approximately $1,100 US per child A significant number of children and young people are enduring severe anxiety attacks and PTSD symptoms. Some are afraid to leave their homes to stock up on food and basic items and struggle to function; Residential schools in the south have closed, and those that remain open are operating with significantly reduced staff, as many have been called up for reserve duty; Children are confined to their rooms and are alone with no personal emotional support; Many of our young adults serve in the army or were called up for reserve duty, and they do not have a family to provide care or help them obtain food and the necessary equipment; Dozens of our Supportive Families who volunteer to provide NOAM children with a nurturing family experience and open their homes to them on weekends have found themselves with children who are unable to return to closed residential schools, while they themselves are coping with the overwhelming situation and increasing stress levels; Workplaces are closed and some of our young people, who work at part-time jobs to support themselves, are experiencing financial distress because they do not have a family to support and assist them.
