Metiv’s Children’s Clinic helps traumatized and at-risk children rebuild resilience, regain a sense of safety, and learn healthy emotional coping skills. Alongside individual and group therapy, we run PANDA school-based group programs for elementary aged children and NAMAL groups for preschool children and their parents. Our flagship programs include:
• PANDA: Emotional Regulation for Elementary School-Aged Children and Parents: Metiv’s PANDA (a Hebrew acronym for “Here we learn ways to cope) program is a therapeutic method designed to strengthen emotion regulation and resilience for school-aged children and families as a whole. Metiv offers an intervention program to infuse the language and tools for emotion regulation into primary schools, including training teachers, facilitating sessions for groups of students, and offering therapy to families that need it
• Merchav Metiv: In April 2025 Metiv launched a pilot for a trauma-informed play space that offers diagnostic play sessions, which children attend with their parents. Families then meet individually with a professional, who will guide them through therapeutic play activities designed to enhance communication, trust, and emotional regulation. The playspace is an accessible, supportive entry point—offering families a safe space to ask questions, connect through play, and receive tailored guidance.
• NAMAL: Group Therapy for Preschoolers and their Parents: NAMAL (a Hebrew acronym for “Let’s make room for play”) offers trauma-informed, play-centered group therapy for pairs of parents and preschoolers. We are also training educators and mental-health professionals around the country to use the NAMAL method.
• NAMAL for Reservists: While NAMAL historically attracted mother-child pairs, after the war broke out, we began a program specifically for fathers who have returned from reserve duty and want to reconnect with their children.
Though the hope is that these services will one day become unnecessary, as long as there is trauma in Israel, Metiv will continue to treat, and advocate on behalf of children affected by psychological trauma. Your support will ensure we can continue to show up for every child who needs us.
