Grills of Hope was born on October 7th, 2023 — the day everything changed. Within days of the Hamas attack on Israel, Jonny Bloom, Rafi Sandler and a group of dedicated volunteers fired up their first grill at a military base, with one simple conviction: feed and uplift our soldiers. What started as a single BBQ has grown entirely through word of mouth into one of Israel's most active grassroots soldier-support operations — delivering hot meals, human connection, and the unmistakable message that the people of Israel and the Jewish world stand behind their fighters. Over 650 BBQs and events later, across bases and frontline positions throughout Israel — from the Gaza Envelope to the Hermon, from Jerusalem to the Negev — Grills of Hope has served over 100,000 soldiers and counting. Every event is powered by volunteers who give their time, their energy, and their hearts. No bureaucracy. No committees. Just people showing up with a grill, a smile, and the belief that small acts of human kindness matter enormously to those carrying the heaviest burden.
