Supporting student-reservists: the next generation of leaders
On October 7th, hundreds of thousands of IDF reservists answered the call to defend the State of Israel. Many of these soldiers were students, who willingly stopped their lives and their studies to protect the Jewish homeland.
While these students were on the battlefield, another front in this war intensified - the international war on the legitimacy of the State of Israel, especially on university campuses. More than once, the same students returned from battle to their studies only to find their peers or lecturers calling them and their friends "war criminals."
Swords of Iron War: A Turning Point for Students in Uniform - The Next Generation of Leaders
The Swords of Iron War has been a turning point for many student reservists. We are seeing a significant change among the reservists as they return from the front lines – a deep sense of mission and a desire to become active leaders in their communities.
These student-reservists have returned from battle with the same determination that brought them to defend the country. They are no longer willing to remain silent in lectures while being labeled “murderers.” Instead, they proudly speak up and work to create the change of which they dream.
Supporting the future leaders of Zionism
Our goal at Im Tirtzu is to strengthen the courageous students who balance their deep commitment to the Jewish state with the desire to build a meaningful personal future. Through our leadership program, we aim to create a supportive community of students who believe in the Zionist dream, and provide them with the tools and knowledge that will enable them to lead their communities with pride. Together, we will build a new generation of leaders.
Building the future of Zionism in Israeli academia through:
• Creating Zionist student groups and activities that promote Zionist values on campuses.
• Fighting for the rights and benefits for student reservists, along with recognizing and thanking them for their contributions.
• Providing leadership training for returning soldier/students who seek to become community and even national leaders.
Today we need you. Together, we will build a strong community of Zionist leaders, raise our voices for justice, and strengthen the spirit of those who risk their lives for the country.
