The Israeli Center for Libraries

The Israeli Center for Libraries (ICL) fosters reading culture and creativity in Israel, and supports and promotes libraries, librarianship, and access to literature and diverse literary voices. The ICL hosts a variety of programs to encourage people to create, publish, translate, and publicize their work. Our work also increases the scope of Israeli prose, allowing more local narratives to resonate within the global literary community. The ICL’s programs span a wide variety of activities, including expanding and promoting Arabic children's literature, cultural activities in libraries, training courses for professionals in the fields of information sciences and librarianship, operation of the Israeli digital library website, and purchasing books at discounts for school and public libraries.
