Sdot Negev Regional Council - Fundraising

On the 7th of October, Hamas terrorists attacked many communities in the Gaza region, they broke into houses, slaughtered families, kidnapped children, and soldiers and committed atrocities that in our worst nightmares, none of us could have anticipated. One of the most affected areas is the Sdot Negev Regional Council. We are now trying to restore the daily routine of the residents whose sense of security simply collapsed due to the horrific events that took place. The council seeks to urgently replenish and equip the communities and residents with means of protection and emergency equipment, to ensure that they can restore security and be prepared for whatever may come next. The purpose of this fundraising is to provide essential resources to the council's residents, ensuring their protection, support, and resilience during these challenging times. Urgent needs: By utilizing the donated funds, the Council can procure security and emergency equipment not covered by government funding, including:  1. Security and Protection:During the attack, we were understood how critical the civilian rapid response team is and the ability of the community to deal with terrorist infiltrations independently. We will invest in essential equipment, including armored patrol cars, helmets, bulletproof vests, generators, and first aid supplies. 2. Evacuation and Accommodation of Residents: The state currently subsidizes full evacuation for only two "front-line" communities, despite the need for a complete evacuation of all 16 communities. Our goal is to provide lodging for approximately 8,000 residents for a period of three months. 3. Emergency Education: Given the expected duration of the conflict, it is crucial to prepare for a sustained routine, including remote learning solutions. We plan to provide tablets, laptops, and learning solutions, especially tailored for children with special needs. About Sdot Negev Regional Council: The Sdot Negev Regional Council was established in 1951 in the northwest of the Negev. The Regional Council implements, the values of Zionism and the development of the State of Israel: a shared and harmonious life with citizens from all Israel's diasporas. The range of employment in Sdot Negev is diverse - advanced agriculture alongside commercial complexes and many other industries. The expansion of the current communities and the establishment of new communities while strengthening the security of the State and its residents are our central values. The Sdot Negev Regional Council is steadily expanding. Today, approximately 11,600 residents live in 16 communities. Since its establishment, the council has grown and expanded, and today is in an astonishing construction boom: The establishment of a new community - Hanun (temporary name) was approved, which will accommodate about 500 families and the properties will be on the market in about a year. Meanwhile, about 1,300 new housing units are being built as part of the old community’s expansion plan. Let's come together and restore the light to Sdot Negev!
