In Memory Of Shalev Dagan - Golani Fighter

Ends: 22:00

Donors: 145

This association was founded in the memory of Shalev Dagan, a combat soldier from the Golani brigade, who fell in battle during the “Black Sabbath Massacre” that took place on Saturday, the 7th of October 2023, while defending the surrounding villages of the Gaza Strip from the Hamas Terrorists. Shalev, son of Yoel and Flore and twin brother to Omer was born on the 15th of November 2002. Full of energy, endless talent and charisma, Shalev excelled at school, loved sports and enjoyed life to its fullest. Shalev couldn’t be ignored. His sharp whitt, intelligence and humour, along side a charming smile, concealed a humble character and a good heart. Described by many of his friends as a natural born leader that ensures everybody fits in and works together in harmony. These qualities made Shalev a true winner that was liked by his commanders, admired by his peers and loved by his proud parents. As a true patriot to his country, Shalev always made sure to express his admiration to Israel’s core values and heritage, feeling proud to be part of the Jewish Nation and wanting to do his best to protect it from any harm. During Shalev’s draft to the IDF in November 2021, Shalev was offered to join leading elite combat units, however his desire to carry on his fathers torch and heritage led Shalev to be stationed in the 51 regiment of the Golani brigade. During his training he was awarded “best in class” and at the end of his long and exhausting 90 kilometers “Barrett March”, Shalev was given the infamous Brown Barrett by Golani’s Brigade Commander! On the morning of the 7th of October Shalev’s team were patrolling the Gaza Border. Alongside his Company’s deputy commanding officer and another comrade, they served as first responders to Hamas’s surprise attack. Although they were substantially outnumbered, Shalev’s team engaged in numerous face to face combat encounters, defeating tens of heavily armed Hamas Terrorists who were on a mission to slaughter and murder innocent civilians in their homes. After receiving a call for help from one of the border posts, Shalev’s team armed vehicle got shot down by an RPG missile, killing Shalev’s commanding officer and Shalev on spot. Shalev Dagan died heroically at the age of 20 while defending civilians and saving innocent lives on the way. Shalev was quoted in one of his motivation talks to his soldiers: “Always keep your head up and never surrender to your weaknesses. Overcome obstacles and challenges and never ever ever ask anything in return as this is your duty and obligation”. It is this exact conviction that lead the founding of this association. Our objectives are: 1. Financial and Logistic Support to combat soldiers in the field during and after the war. 2. Financial and moral support to wounded soldiers and their families. 3. Financial and professional support to the families who lost their loved ones during the 7th October Massacre. Your contribution and assistance will be appreciated.
