Empowering camp for evacuee children

By KFAR GALIM

Help us bring a smile to an evacuee child

Donors: 65

Children and teenagers have been particularly hard hit by the war, and are experiencing instability, emotional upheaval and trauma, Kfar Galim launched a five-day camp to support children and provide them with a temporary educational framework that embraces and enables them to relax and process what they went through alongside their peer group and a dedicated professional team. Kfar Galim hosts children aged 6-18 from families dealing with loss of their loved ones, children from families that their immediate family member was kidnaped and are being held hostage in Gaza and children that were evacuated from their homes. Housed at the Youth Village, these children receive a respite from the turmoil and are provided full room and board, therapeutic sessions facilitated by social workers and, most importantly, lots of fun and a sense of normalcy. The children participate in activities all day long, including chef classes, dog training, Ninja activity, wave surfing, art activity, music activity, proms and a lot of happy activities. For a brief time, the stay in Kfar Galim offers these children a break from their harsh reality and the horrifying experiences they went through. They return home with a sense of support, community, and tools to help them deal with the days to come.
