Kanfey Dror

Bullying is a terrible phenomenon throughout our schools and social media. Traditionally, adults and the wider community ignore it. Bullying leaves many of its victims emotionally scarred and has been shown to lead to suicide amongst children, teens and adults. Adults often ignore social bullying, considering it an inescapable part of childhood. The wider community believes that there is nothing to be done. But we choose to fight bullying! We are creating significant social change through the organization KANFEY DROR in order to save lives. Kanfey Dror was founded by the El Ami family in memory of their son, Dror, a bright, sensitive young man who suffered greatly from social bullying as a child. Despite later success in school, army service and university, the wounds inflicted on him as a child defeated him as an adult. Kanfey Dror will address the problem of bullying through two avenues:: Initiating and sustaining public dialog about bullying, changing social norms, and creating awareness of personal and public responsibility. Creating intervention and support systems within educational institutions and the community that will work together to prevent bullying and support children and families in crisis. Kanfey Dror will bring together different associations to effectively cope with the problem. We are already hard at work with the Association of Community Centers, The Jerusalem Municipality and other organizations as we begin to act. We need your contribution. Your donation will allow us to save lives by: Leading a dynamic campaign to increase awareness, change norms and strengthen a sense of responsibility in various communities Developing support and intervention teams for children and families coping with social bullying, working alongside the education system. Training a network of Kanfey Dror agents: community leaders who will run the intervention teams and take responsibility for creating change within their communities. Cooperating with schools and youth groups to train young people to prevent and respond to social bullying. Join us in taking responsibility. Join us in creating change.
