Hadar Team Hanukkah Tzedaka 2023
By Mechon Hadar
Knitting and Writing Initiatives
Ends: 22:00
Donors: 24
This year for Hanukkah, we’d like to offer two concentrated opportunities for tzedaka. We encourage folks to make a gift of any amount to support the projects described here initiative by Hadar alumni. Together we can have a collective impact.
In response to October 7th and the aftermath Shifi Wygoda initiated a project of knitting circles with women who were evacuated from their homes close to Gaza. Nearly 500 women, most of them elderly, participate in such circles in evacuated hotels in Israel. The circles offer the women an opportunity to relax and sit in a comforting social circle. Our donations will help support supply purchases- wool and knitting needles.
Orian Assiag is facilitating creative writing sessions for Bedouin women. These sessions will help the women write testimonies of their experiences from October 7th. This project seeks to give a voice to a sector of the population that often goes unheard by Israeli society.
Your donation will be transferred through the Mechon Hadar Israel directly to the projects.
