Continuing Judy’s Legacy - and Giving Every Student an Opportunity There are people whose impact remains long after they are no longer with us. Judy Segal was one of those people. For nearly forty years, Judy served as Director of Development at Havat Hanoar Hatsioni. She devoted her life to the Village, initiated countless projects, raised vital funds, and built deep and lasting friendships with donors and friends of the Village in Israel and around the world. She worked with endless dedication, great love, and a deep belief in the Village and its students, until her very last day. Those who knew Judy knew that she did more than raise funds. She brought together people who shared her belief that every young person deserves the best possible opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed. Through the relationships she nurtured over the years, and the generosity of so many friends of the Village, countless projects became possible, touching the lives of thousands of students. Following Judy’s passing, the Segal family chose to continue her legacy by dedicating the donations made in her memory each year to the Judy Segal Legacy Fund. The Fund enables the Village to continue what Judy believed in so deeply - giving every student the very best we can provide: educational opportunities, support at important moments, assistance with special needs, and new initiatives that enrich life at the Village. One of the first major projects made possible through the Fund was Beit Judy - the newly renovated residential floor in our dormitory, dedicated in her memory and now a warm home for our students. The Fund continues to support the upkeep of Beit Judy, as well as new initiatives that carry Judy’s legacy forward. Judy’s legacy lives not only in our memories. It lives in every student who is given an opportunity, every graduate who continues to believe in themselves, and every young person who finds a place to call home at the Village.
