Shining a Light through the Stage

"It’s the first time anyone clapped for me” In Israel today there are tens of thousands of “at risk” youth. Children who come from poor or unsupervised households, who don’t have anyone to deal with their basic needs. This kind of environment can destroy a child’s self confidence. Many of them are overly introverted and lacking the self confidence they need to succeed in life. "Curtain Call” works to help these children develop a sense of self confidence through creating and performing in community theater. The program now consists of 12 weekly meetings in which the children learn to express themselves through the world of theatre. They create a short performance and perform it in front of their family in a special presentation. Our goal for 2017 is to run the program in 10 different locations and help 150 kids! Together, we can light up!
