We need your help to enable young mothers without family support and their children to have a place where they can fulfill their dream: to build a safe future for themselves, for them and their children.
The mothers come to the Lionesses House from a variety of distress situations, most of them grew up in foster families, because when they were children, the parents' home was not safe for them. When they were in foster families, they promised themselves that when they became mothers, they would give their children everything that was missing from them.
Unfortunately, for various reasons things did not happen as they would have liked. Sometimes the father of their children was violent, sometimes he cut off contact. They found themselves alone, without a supportive family and with enormous existential difficulty. The fears that accompanied their childhood rise again, and the cycle of distress threatens to drown them again.
There is one difference between their childhood and their adulthood: they courageously choose to come to the lioness community, and act in order to create a different future for themselves and their children.
In the lioness apartment they live in partnership with other mothers, they receive parental guidance, addressing their past pains and strengthening their hope for the future. We help take care of legal matters, debts, weave together possible dreams for better days.
It's not easy to be in the lioness house, where you and the child have one room, and in the next room there is another mother and child, where you are required to get up every morning, pick up the pieces that were shattered in the dreams she expressed at night, and continue to function and be the best mother you can be.
To make all of this possible for another year, we need your help
