First Line Med - FLM

First Line Med was founded within a week after October Seventh 2023. We provide long-term mental health support free (funded) from senior experts in the trauma field. With your support, among other donations, First Line Med (FLM) will provide long-term professional mental health support free (funded), which is required for multiple traumas victims such as of the October 7th events. FLM supports the first circle of victims including those who returned from captivity, family members of the murdered and the hostages; FLM also supports the second circle of bereaved families', such as grandfathers and nieces, the survivors of the Nova massacre, people who held safe room doors for hours, victims who are not funded by the government. The definition of trauma is “an experience that the soul cannot handle.” We therefore believe these victims will need up to three years of professional rehabilitative therapy to ensure their mental health moving forward. This nation-wide project is led Pro Bono by the Israeli senior psychoanalysts: Prof. Orfit Shapira Berman (PhD), Prof. Merav Roth (PhD), Iris Gavrieli Rahabi and as coordinator of support groups - Liat Warhaftig Aran, a psychoanalyst. Most of the professionals are psychoanalysts, Group Analysts and other experienced therapists, amongst the best in Israel, who have extensive experience with trauma and bereavement. We provide individual therapy, as well as group therapy and psychiatric assistance. First Line Med is a project within the Anatta Foundation, a registered Israeli non-for-profit, that aspires to improve lives by supporting exceptional initiatives in the fields of health, education, psychology, arts and culture. Help victims suffering from severe trauma since Oct. 7 and make Israeli society more resilient by donating. One year of quality, professional ongoing weekly therapy for one-victim costs $5,500 (at the same publicly funded rate of $110/hour).
