It is with great respect and deep admiration that we announce the establishment of the Lisa Rubin Memorial Fund. Professor Lisa Rubin, a distinguished pediatrician and public health physician, dedicated her life to improving public health and enhancing the well-being of the Israeli population. Serving in senior roles within the Ministry of Health, including Head of the Division of Maternal and Child Health for the State of Israel, Public Health Division, she was renowned for her tireless efforts to improve healthcare services and promote public health. In addition to these roles, she was a teacher and researcher, and was a member of the faculty of the University of Haifa’s School of Public Health for many years. Her dedication and professional work left an indelible mark on the healthcare system in Israel, and her memory will forever be cherished. The Lisa Rubin Memorial Fund aims to continue her remarkable legacy and contributions in maternal and child health by promoting breastfeeding and increasing breastfeeding rates in Israel. The fund is dedicated to providing assistance, support, and essential products to every mother wishing to maximize her breastfeeding potential, recognizing breastfeeding as a cornerstone of maternal and infant health. The Breast Milk Bank, a part of this initiative, manages the collection and provision of breast milk to infants whose mothers are temporarily unable to do so. Through the fund, we offer professional support, workshops, and training, as well as access to essential products that facilitate the breastfeeding process. Our goal is to create a significant cultural shift in breastfeeding practices in Israel, ensuring that every mother receives the necessary support to give her baby the best start in life.
