Israeli Astronomical Association

The Israeli Astronomical Association (IAA) has been operating for over 40 years as a non-profit organization, supported by dedicated volunteers who share its mission to spread and make the science of astronomy and space accessible to the general public. The IAA’s offices are located at the Givatayim Observatory, and its activities take place throughout the country. Among other things, we organize lectures, nighttime observations in the Negev with professional equipment and guides, public observations for the general public in various locations throughout the country, a celestial photography competition, and more. The IAA operates a meteor division that collaborates with international organizations, supports the establishment of astronomy centres in Israel, and more.
