In the merit of bringing home all of our beloved hostages
Ends: 21:00
Donors: 788
We have been blessed to exceed our funding goal and have shut the campaign. Thank you so much for your incredible generosity. May this Sefer Torah be for the merit of Hersh and all of our beloved hostages returning IMMINENTLY. Please check out other events and projects we will be doing to flood the world with light and goodness from July 14-21 at WeekofGoodness dot com.
On behalf of Hersh and all of the cherished hostages, from July 14th to July 21st, we are focusing extra efforts on infusing more goodness into our fractured world. This will include performing specific mitzvot/good deeds (or, often defined as "commandments" or “precepts'' in the Torah). You can learn more about Week of Goodness at WeakofGoodness dot com.
The 613th and final mitzvah in the Torah (the Five Books of Moses, also known in the Christian tradition as The Old Testament), and a rare one to perform, is to write (or contribute to the writing of) a Torah scroll. This is done in a specific, precise and traditional way, on parchment, by a highly trained and skilled scribe.
In the merit of trying to release Hersh and all the hostages from captivity, we are taking on this unique mitzvah, and we invite you to join us. On Thursday night, July 18th, we will be completing the writing of a Torah scroll and dedicating it to our synagogue in Jerusalem. The procession will begin at 8pm at the Bnei Akiva Baka branch at Yehuda Street 37and finish at the Baka Community Center at Issachar Street 3. You can bring your energy, love and support to the dedication itself and/or take part in commissioning the writing of the scroll.
We welcome any amount, but offer the following suggestions:
• One letter 36 NIS/$10
• One word 100 NIS/$36
• One verse 360 NIS/$100
• One chapter 3,600 NIS/$1000
• One Torah portion 7,200 NIS/$2,000
May all of us, together, through a myriad of good deeds, merit to see the immediate release of all of the beloved hostages.
With gratitude and appreciation,
Jon and Rachel
