Loans for Women Entrepreneurs in Arab Society

The Sawa (together) program directly works for economic empowerment - enabling women to achieve long term economic security in Israel; strengthening their and their family's economics. Women are provided with increased access, opportunity and information to advance their own and their family’s long term economic sustainability. SAWA provides microloans of between ₪4,000 to ₪30,0000 combined with business services are given individually or through solidarity group methodology to low-income female entrepreneurs for the development of their businesses. Operating since 2006 (since 2011 with the cooperation of the government) the SAWA program for the development of small businesses of Arab women provided approximately 18,680 non bank loans in the amount of about NIS 149 million with less than 1.5% losses.
