Israel at War

Since the outbreak of the war on October 7th, Latet has been operating in emergency mode, assisting populations affected by the war while continuing to support vulnerable groups, who are the first to suffer in times of war and crisis. Even now, we continue our regular activities alongside directing as many resources as possible to those directly impacted by the war. As a leading organization and one of the main relief arms of civil society in times of emergency, Latet's mission is to provide immediate humanitarian aid to families in distress and populations affected by the war across the country, with a special focus on the southern and/or northern regions, as needed. Aid Framework: Target Population (based on needs assessment): • Impoverished populations - families, elderly, and Holocaust survivors • Evacuees from northern Israel and the Gaza border area • Families required to stay in shelters for extended periods Aid Package (to be assessed based on specific needs): • Food products, hygiene items, shelter supplies, medical supplies, and medications, as well as recreational activities for children Latet has extensive experience in providing responses in multi-front emergency situations in Israel, including the Second Lebanon War, Operation Protective Edge, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Latet has provided humanitarian aid in disaster-stricken areas worldwide, including in 25 instances of natural disasters and civil wars in India, Turkey, Kosovo, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Congo, Myanmar, Haiti, and more. As a nationwide umbrella organization and food bank, Latet will deploy its organizational, operational, and logistical infrastructure, its network of civil society partnerships, and its operational team, and will mobilize thousands of volunteers to provide immediate aid across the country, as needed, and for as long as the emergency situation resulting from the war continues.
