Backpacks of Gratitude: Supporting the Children of Reservists In memory of our heroic soldiers Advanced Sergeant Major (Res.) Yossi Hershkowitz and Major (Res.) Yitzhar Hoffman, HY"D. During these times, as reservists are called to duty, Chabad Katamon is assisting their families with sandwiches for the children, Shabbat meals, and soon, backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year. We invite you to join our efforts and honor the memory of the two heroes who fell while defending the country. Adv. Sergeant Major (Res.) Yossi Hershkowitz, HY"D - Age 44, from Gva'ot, the beloved principal at Ort Pelech Boys in Jerusalem, fell in Gaza after enlisting on the first day. Major (Res.) Yitzhar Hoffman, HY"D - Age 36, from Ashhar, a platoon commander in Sayeret Matkal, fell in northern Gaza on January 31, 2024. In their memory and for the elevation of their souls, we will distribute hundreds of backpacks and supplies to the children of reservists, and continue their legacy of giving, devotion, and love for our land and our people. Join us in supporting these families and commemorating their memory.
