A day of Pain, A day of hope

About the Project It has been almost a year since October 7th, and we are still embroiled in a terrible war that has claimed – and continues to claim – many victims. Our society is traumatized and there are very few places and experiences of light that give us – Jews and Arabs – hope that life could be different, that it must be different. On October 9th, 2024, the Day of Pain, The Day of Hope will take place at the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem. At the event, we will meet in small dialogue groups, in order to be together during these dark and troubling times. In this sensitive and emotional event, we will honor and hold our pain. However, together with this, we will deepen our hope, via cooperation and sharing, listening and learning: Jews and Arabs, from throughout Israel – with open hearts, a will to change, and the belief that it is possible to achieve peace and equality. You are invited to participate! Every contribution will help us hold this important event. It will help Arabs and Jews from throughout the country – with all their diversity – meet, deepen their understanding of their pain, as well as deepen the hope that together we can create a healthy reality for all of us.
