Campaign Story: Providing Food Cards for Needy Families for the Tishrei Holidays"They Help Us – We Help Them" Rosh Hashanah is fast approaching, and with it comes the desire to enter the new year with peace, joy, and a sense of hope. But for hundreds of families across the country, that peace still feels out of reach. Some families are not just struggling with daily survival but also with putting together a simple holiday meal. This is where we, the "Ma'aleh" organization, step in. About Us:The Ma'aleh organization was established in 2016 with a simple goal: to help needy families, connecting generous people who want to give with families in crisis. Every week, we distribute dozens of food packages to families, and during the holidays, we provide food cards so they can set their holiday table with dignity. Our goal is not just to offer temporary relief but to accompany these families through economic recovery, mental support, and a path back to normal life. This past year has been especially challenging. The Iron Swords War brought about an emergency draft of thousands of soldiers, including many reservists, who had to leave their jobs and go to defend the country. Suddenly, many families found themselves facing economic hardships they had never encountered before—not just with everyday expenses, but because their sources of income were abruptly cut off. How We Help:Our organization assists these families of soldiers and reservists who have faced financial difficulties. They give their all to protect us, and now it’s our turn to help them. We distribute food cards to these families so that they, too, can enter Rosh Hashanah with a smile, without worrying about how their holiday table will look. But to do this, we need your help. How You Can Help:This year, like every year, we aim to distribute food cards to hundreds of families a week before Rosh Hashanah. This will allow them to prepare in advance, buy what they need, and celebrate with their loved ones in peace and joy. Every donation you make can change their situation. • 100 ILS – A food card that allows a family to buy basic holiday necessities. • 250 ILS – A food card that covers the entire holiday meal for a family. • 500 ILS – Provides a family not only the means to celebrate the holiday but also the support to get through the weeks following.
