Protection of Whistleblowers

Help us hire another lawyer for our Whistleblower Protection Department!  For years, the Whistleblower Protection Department of the Movement for Quality Government has supported brave public servants who expose corruption in their workplaces. Without their reports, much of this corruption would remain hidden, harming the public interest and resources. They are our first line of defense in the fight against corruption. The department currently includes one attorney and two law students who assist and represent whistleblowers in legal proceedings, such as labor court claims, civil lawsuits, and cases with the State Comptroller’s Office. Beyond legal representation, the department also works to promote legislative changes and policy improvements to better protect whistleblowers and safeguard their rights. Additionally, the department offers psychological support through a licensed therapist, providing care for whistleblowers who face harassment, social isolation, threats, stalled career progress, and even termination due to their reports. These brave individuals often suffer from severe emotional distress, including anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and physical symptoms, impacting their daily lives. They took the brave first step—now it’s our turn to protect them! Over the years, the Movement for Quality Government has assisted hundreds of whistleblowers, both legally and emotionally. The department receives 25-50 cases a year on average, but due to the complexity of the cases, we can’t help everyone. Recently, we’ve seen an increase in whistleblower reports, and we need your help to support even more! To expand our support and assist more courageous whistleblowers, we need to grow our team by hiring an additional lawyer.
