The Home for ReservistsA National Emergency Mission to Strengthen the Families of Israel’s Reservists and Career Soldiers “The Home for Reservists” is an initiative of The Home - Family Support and Empowerment, established in response to the Iron Swords War and the urgent call for help from communities of reservists’ and career soldiers’ spouses. Behind every soldier on the front line stands a family, often a partner, a young parent , holding the home together. These families quietly bear the price of national security: children coping with anxiety and behavioral regression, relationships under strain, and loss of livelihood. Many partners have had to pause or abandon their careers to care for their children alone, giving up professional growth and future aspirations. The organization operates a professional six-month family support program, in which each family is paired with a trained volunteer family mentor who receives continuous supervision from psychologists, family counselors, and subject-matter experts. The process provides practical tools and emotional support in the areas of parenting, relationships, financial stability, career, and personal and family resilience. Developed by experts in psychology, social work, and education, this model is based on the concept of family resilience and has demonstrated measurable success. Families report significant improvements in their sense of stability, hope, and strength. The project supports the rehabilitation of reservist and career-soldier families across Israel, particularly in peripheral regions, helping them rebuild their lives and return to a path of growth and development. By the end of the process, each family emerges stronger, more stable, and better equipped to face life’s challenges. During 2025, the organization supported over 220 families across the country. In 2026, it is expected to train approximately 450 additional volunteers and support around 800 more families, in response to the steadily growing demand on the ground.
