Saving the North!

Due to the war, we’ve witnessed over 1,000 fires in the past months, ignited agricultural lands due to missile strikes, causing damage to grazing lands, bee farming areas, and farms. In addition, ALL forests along Israel’s northern borderlines have been burned down: Bar'am, Birya, Ramim Ridge, Ramot Naftali, Kadita, Elon, Margaliot. The fires pose a serious threat not only to the livelihoods of farmers but to Israel’s agricultural sustainability and the entire forestry ecosystem! HaShomer’s Response Teams Our operational team in the north serves as the primary first-response unit for farmers throughout the region. Each team includes five crew members, essential equipment, and vehicles. They join firefighting units from the Fire and Rescue Authority in the farmlands and forests. Under missile barrages and falling debris from intercepts, they put their lives at risk, operating in active combat zones in unceasing missile waves. With remarkable courage, they work tirelessly into the night. Urgent NeedsAdditional firefighting equipment and vehicles would significantly enhance our response times, allowing us to detect and extinguish fires quickly, limiting the damage to agricultural fields and forests. Every moment counts, and without more resources, the economic and environmental impact will only worsen. Investing in more fire-fighting equipment is a crucial step toward protecting the land, the farmers, and the vital food resources that Israel relies on during this difficult time.
