 Jerusalem is the capital of the world. In the heart of the city stands a lighthouse of Torah Tefillah and Chesed. Chabad of Rechavia! And that’s why it is so important that it flourishes. Everyone is welcome to walk through its door. The young. The old. Those who are Torah learned. And those who want to learn how to learn. You can feel the warmth when you walk through the door! We are a people place. You’ll find men, women and children from across the city and across the world - and they all feel at home. Take a look at some of the special features that mark out the world of Chabad Rechavia. What does “Azza Zaza” mean to you? That’s Purim at Chabad Rechavia. 24 hours of Megillah readings - inside, outside, in public parks and coffee houses. Thousands of people take part every year. And almost without drawing breath, Chabad Rechavia plays host to hundreds more at Israel’s largest Seder. That’s how Chabad Rechavia works on a large scale. Equally unique is our program of individual support for young mothers who have given birth. We provide food to the families, vouchers to make life easier in the early weeks of motherhood, and volunteer teenagers taking the other children to a local Gymboree, so that the mother can rest. We then go from mothers to children. Chabad Rechavia runs an enrichment program for children with regular after-school clubs and Chugim (activities). We invest in our youth in a fun way – and they keep coming back. You would expect davening and daily services to be at the heart of the Chabad Rechavia world. Indeed they are with a unique atmosphere of warmth and informality. People of all levels of Jewish observance and from many parts of the city come to pray with us, because they feel that they belong. We offer a variety of learning opportunities. High-quality Adult Education is open to all and features a Bet Midrash for senior citizens – a life-enhancing and even life-saving program– because it brings a sense of purpose for each day and a feeling of belonging, as well as high quality JLI courses around the year, Your generosity makes all this happen – and so much more. Jacob comes every day to learn with the Rabbanim in the Bet Midrash. Or Avital, who felt out of place in Jewish life, joined our Azza Zaza public Megillah reading and has been a regular attendee ever since.
