Melabev Bet Shemesh

Melabev, founded over 40 years ago, specializes in eldercare and care for people with dementia and Alzheimer's. The program at the Beit Shemesh day center is very unique and gives the members a feeling of meaning, belonging, a sense of value, love and warmth. Melabev also supports the family members who take care of their loved ones. Over the years, the Day Center in Beit Shemesh has developed a unique type of community that is also characterized by inter-generational activity. The seniors who come from all over the world participate in many programs together with members of the community and this is beneficial and rewarding for all participants. We are strongly supported by staff and volunteers inside and outside the day center, and the Melabev members take part in charitable communal activities with an emphasis on the abilities and strengths they still have, for which we won the EMDA award "The Giving Elder". The daily program includes a wide variety of therapeutic cognitive and physical activities such as music, dance, art, yoga, cooking and baking, occupational therapy, cognitive exercises, computer and pet therapy, and more. There is wheelchair accessible transportation and hot nutritious meals are provided daily. Personalized treatment plans are built for each member according to language, culture, need and cognitive ability, and the services include support and training for family members and caregivers.
