From Battlefield to Paralympic Glory The aftermath of the Iron Swords War has left over 12,000 Israeli soldiers with serious injuries, launching them on a long and challenging journey of recovery. These soldiers face profound physical, emotional, and mental challenges as they adapt to new disabilities, relearn daily activities, and reimagine their futures. In partnership with local sport associations, the Center for Jewish Impact has initiated a transformative program to rehabilitate injured soldiers through structured athletic training. This initiative not only provides physical and emotional recovery but also creates opportunities for these heroes to excel as Paralympic athletes, with the goal of preparing competitors for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games. The program begins with exposure events, introducing soldiers to various sports, including cycling, rowing, wheelchair basketball, and more. Participants demonstrating commitment and potential progress to regular training sessions led by professional coaches, with opportunities to compete locally and internationally. Each soldier receives access to tailored activities, specialized equipment, and community support to foster resilience and purpose. Cost and Impact: Sponsorship for one soldier is $7,000, covering four years of training, equipment, and participation in exposure and competition events. Sponsoring 10 soldiers over four years costs $70,000.
