Leoro shel Ofir

Ofir Libstein, a man of vision and action, dedicated his life to the cause of Israeli society and the Jewish people in the Diaspora. Ofir fell on the morning of Simchat Torah, October 7th, 2023 in the murderous Hamas attack on Israel while he was defending his Kibbutz, Kfar Aza. His son Nitzan was also brutally murdered that morning. In his lifetime, Ofir served as head of the Sha’ar HaNegev Council, initiated many projects, including the “Darom Adom” Festival, served as CEO of the Kibbutz Industry Association and a director of KKL Israel, and was the chairman of “Habonim Dror” and a founding partner of “Netaim”. But before all this Ofir was a family man, the husband of Vered and the father of Aviv, Idan, Uri and the late Nitzan. Ofir felt great loyalty to the Jewish world in the Diaspora and strove to connect Jewish communities to Israel based on the values ​​of Judaism, community resilience and fostering leadership.
