Fearless, the young men set out to aid the kibbutzim, which were under heavy attack. On their way, they were surrounded and vastly outnumbered by the enemy, yet, they fought valiantly until their last bullet.
This isn’t a tale from last year’s Simchat Torah events but the story of the soldiers of the Mountain Platoon, whom Ben-Gurion called "The Glory of Humanity." Nearly seventy-seven years have passed since their heroic fall.
These soldiers left behind a legacy of self-sacrifice and unwavering courage, defending our homeland at all costs. Like so many other young men, they faced overwhelming odds with "innocent bravery," charging fearlessly against a multitude of enemies who had invaded the very heart of our lives.
The Gush Etzion Heritage Center, in collaboration with the Field School, is launching a campaign to commemorate these remarkable individuals who fought tirelessly to save Gush Etzion.
The exhibit will run throughout the month of Shevat (starting February 25, 2025) at the entrance to the audiovisual presentation. Join us in paying tribute to their memory!
