Living in hope

Tens of thousands of Holocaust survivors in Israel in 2024 live below the poverty line. According to the latest poverty report, there are 158,000 elderly individuals in Israel suffering from hunger. We cannot leave them alone. Their ability to cope is deteriorating, their mental and physical health is worsening, and they are aging alone. They barely survived the Holocaust, and now they are struggling to survive this battle. For over a year, many have been locked in their homes, paralyzed by fear, waiting for someone to notice them, care for them, and come to help. They cannot run when rockets fall; many choose to remain confined, often unable to make it to a shelter. We cannot wait another moment — their time is running out. Now is the time for us to rally together and provide every survivor with a hot meal. Together, we will do everything we can to ensure this truly is their last battle. Let us embrace them, be there for them, and remind them that hope begins with something as simple as a hot meal. We must ensure that Holocaust survivors never go hungry again. The people of Israel are united, fighting for every survivor, so they are not left hungry or alone. This is a battle we all must win — for life and for those who live! We are here for them, so they can live the rest of their years with dignity and a smile. They have suffered enough. The organization 'Living with Dignity' provides comprehensive and embracing support to Holocaust survivors. For over 30 years, we have operated with the help of thousands of volunteers across the country, expanding our support each year. This year, given the harsh consequences of the war, we are committed to extending our activities to the north and south of the country. We are establishing assistance systems both in the north and south so that no Holocaust survivor sleeps on an empty stomach. Help us reach the hungry and set up kitchens that will cook and warm their hearts, from the north to the south. In addition to the support needed for the establishment of new kitchens, we still lack 2 million meals for all those in need. Now is the time for all of us to fight hunger together and win!
