Supporting the soldiers of 8551

Some things simply cannot be measured in money. A hug from a supportive family… A child’s smile… A longing gaze… After a year and a half of war and hundreds of reserve duty days, we in Company A, Battalion 8551 have realized that our driving force—the families on the home front—need support as well. It’s not boots, vests, or helmets. It’s not even government grants. It’s care, appreciation, and love. And that is what we want to give them. A hug. A salute. Small gestures with profound meaning. That’s why we have created a low-cost support program to strengthen the home front, boost morale, and naturally increase the willingness of soldiers to continue serving through the many upcoming reserve duty days. A warm meal once a week for every family, delivered exactly when the husband is on duty. A small gift—a dinner voucher for the couple to share a moment together. All to strengthen family resilience and, ultimately, national security. The cost of a weekly meal we send to a reservist’s family is 160 ILS. Throughout this operational deployment, we provide 8 meals (one per week) at a total cost of 1,300 ILS per family.
