Her Body, Her Choice, Your Urgent Support

العربية بعد الإنجليزية* According to the WHO, approximately 50% of pregnancies in the world are unplanned – and about 60% of those end in abortion. In developed countries, the number is significantly higher. Lada’at’s Emergency Fund for Contraception and Abortion has helped nearly 50 women in its first year to realize their reproductive rights. You can help us help the next woman who needs us! Abortion procedures in Israel are funded by the state for citizens and residents who receive approval from the abortion committee. There are women who want an abortion in Israel but are not eligible for state funding, such as Palestinian women without legal status and asylum seekers, or women who need to go through the procedure in a private clinic in order to ensure absolute discretion for their own personal safety. A financial barrier can prevent these women from realizing their right to access abortion and they require financial assistance. Additionally, IUDs (inter-uterine devices), one of the most effective and hassle-free forms of contraception, is not included in the health basket and therefore women at a severe economic disadvantage cannot afford to access them. We at Lada’at – Choose Well come into contact with these women when they turn to our counseling centers or are referred to us by sister organizations. That is why we chose to launch the Emergency Fund for Contraception and Abortion with the help of a generous donation that allowed us to help nearly 50 women so far with funding for abortion and IUDs. The Emergency Fund’s professional committee receives requests for funding via Lada’at’s counseling centers and partners. Each woman is accompanied throughout the process by Lada’at staff and volunteers and can receive a recommendation for the abortion committee as needed. Over the past year, we have had the privilege to help Palestinian women from the West Bank and East Jerusalem, asylum seekers, former sex workers, foreign workers without adequate medical insurance, women without legal status in Israel and women who require absolute discretion. We are incredibly proud of our work and want nothing more than to continue to help every woman in need of financial assistance in order to realize her reproductive rights. We are in urgent need of funding to continue this work in 2025 and thereafter, so we decided to launch a fundraising campaign for the Emergency Fund. The more money we raise, they more women we will be able to help. It’s that simple. Please help us continue helping others!
