We invite you to support young mothers who grew up in Residential homes, have no family support, and are not eligible for state assistance. Yeladim - Children at Risk operates the "Moms Forward" program, working for them and their babies at risk. Join us.
"How do you become a mother when you've never had one?"
Rachel (alias), a 20-year-old mother of two from Holon
Rachel grew up in an abusive home, was raised in a residential care facility with her six siblings, and entered motherhood without a support system.
"Through the Moms Forward program of the Children at Risk Association, I learned to face my fears and, for the first time, realized I am not alone. I had a broken childhood, and thanks to Tamar from the program, I now understand that my children's lives can be better."
Their Story:
They are young women aged 20-30, from the Jewish, Arab, and Haredi sectors, and from both the geographic periphery and the central region of Israel. graduates of residential care facilities. Some are orphans, most carry the heavy burden of growing up without family backing and without a normative parental role model. Today, they are mothers themselves - full of love and determination to give their children a different and better life.
But to break the cycle of hardship and become the mothers they dream of being, they need you.
About the Program:
25% of residential care graduates return to receive social welfare services in adulthood (State Comptroller Report, Israel, 2023).
The "Moms Forward" program by Yeladim - Children at Risk works to reduce the cycle of dependency and provide, Rachel, Miriam and other mothers with a comprehensive emotional support system.
This includes close mentoring, parental guidance, psychological support, and practical tools to navigate the complex journey of motherhood.

The October 7th War shook us all, but for Rachel, Miriam, and dozens of other young mothers at risk, this is not just another crisis.
They have already endured immense hardships, carry deep wounds from the past, and grew up in difficult environments - now, they find themselves completely alone again. Miriam with their babies, with their worries, with overwhelming emotional burdens, without a supportive family, and without a shoulder to lean on.
This is a challenging time for everyone, but even more so for young mothers without a support system, who are experiencing post-trauma symptoms.
They need a full, personal emotional support system.

Tailoring a Personal Support System – A comprehensive emotional and practical support network customized for each mother in the program:
