Celebrating the 90th Anniversary of The Tel Aviv International Synagogue - Beit El

The historic Beit El Synagogue on Frishman 23 was build in 1931 and opened its doors in September 1934. The synagogue has a glorious past with esteemed rabbis and world renowned chazzanim and a standing room only community but beginning in the 1970’s, the community began to dwindle until it was on the verge of closing its doors. In 2009, Rabbi Ariel Konstantyn, a veteran rabbi from the US, made Aliyah and took on the daunting challenge of rebuilding the community to its former glory. Under his dynamic leadership, The Tel Aviv International Synagogue (TAIS) Beit El is a thriving, young community serving thousands of Israelis and Olim, religious and secular, Sephardi and Ashkenazi in a warm and embracing environment of love and mutual respect. We are celebrating our 90th year of bringing Yiddishkeit to Tel Aviv. As we look ahead to the next 90, we are facing great challenges and amazing opportunities. The old building is in desperate need of a costly restoration, we need to install an elevator to enable handicapped access, we envision the building of an additional floor which will add critically needed space for Torah study and community activities and will include classrooms for children and adults, a library and general activity space. We are in need of your help and invite you to be a partner in the mitzvah. Together we can continue to bring the light of Torah and our tradition to every Jewish soul – each connecting in their own unique way.
