Emergency fundraising for Trans Israel

In Israel today, amidst crisis, war, and the soaring cost of living, we are all affected—but some are especially vulnerable. Trans women, particularly those from the periphery—Mizrahi, Ethiopian, Arab women, and those from conservative families—are among the hardest hit. Especially for those who have spent their entire lives fighting for their very survival. Imagine a young trans woman, abandoned by her family, forced to sleep on the streets because she has nowhere else to go. Or a woman born in the periphery of Israel—a Mizrahi, Ethiopian, or Arab trans woman—trying to survive in a place where no one has her back. Women like her, invisible their entire lives, are now more overlooked than ever—and they have nowhere to turn. Trans Israel is their last refuge. We are here for these women because we know firsthand the reality they face. We know exactly what it means to fight for a roof over our heads, for a hot meal, for the right to live with dignity—we’ve been there ourselves. Due to the cost-of-living crisis and the war, more and more trans women are finding themselves helpless in the face of extreme poverty, violence, food insecurity, and being pushed into sex work. At the same time, most government and philanthropic funding is being redirected toward the war effort. Foundations that were once a stable source of support may significantly reduce their donations, and we now find ourselves in an emergency: for the first time, our work is at real risk. Trans Israel is the only organization led by trans women from the periphery and dedicated to women facing exclusion and discrimination based on ethnicity, economic status, and social background—on top of their gender identity. We provide financial aid, rent and medical support, food packages, and operate the Trans House—the only place in Israel where every trans woman can receive a hot meal and a listening ear from one of our mentors, who are themselves part of the community. The activities include counseling and guidance, legal assistance, and holiday meals for elderly and lonely trans women. With your donations, we can continue to be here for those who need us most. This campaign is an urgent call to save our work and ensure that no woman is left behind. These times are difficult, and the upcoming Passover holiday only highlights the gaps—without your support, many women will be left without a holiday meal, without medicine, and without a place to turn to.
