Ido Ben Zvi fell in battle in Jabaliya, Gaza, on the morning of Friday, October 25, 2024 (23 Tishrei 5785).
He was 21 years old. The beloved son of Sharon and Amir.
Ido was born in 2003, the eldest child in his family. He grew up in a diverse environment, which deeply shaped his open-minded and pluralistic personality. A dedicated social activist, he was a youth leader in HaShomer HaTzair, studied in the Educational Leadership program at Ofek High School, played volleyball, captained the Mate Asher youth teams, and loved CrossFit training.
After high school, he was accepted for a service year in Nitzana, he found a home in the desert. Ido enlisted in the IDF and joined the armored corps in the MALAR unit, later advancing to the tank commanders’ course. As he neared the completion of his training, he entered Gaza as part of the maneuver in Jabaliya. During an operation where Ido's tank led the force, the tank struck a powerful explosive device. He never returned.
By his bedside, a note was found in his handwriting: "To become a better person in every way."
On his gravestone, these words are inscribed:
"A beloved son, an exemplary brother, a true friend. A man of peace. He loved people and the desert. He loved to love."

As family and friends, we are committed to preserving Ido’s spirit through meaningful initiatives:
2. Developing the 'Banim' Reservoir – A space dedicated to personal and group development alongside an ecological conservation.
4. Supporting X-combat soldiers with no financial safety net through the "Milestones for Warriors" project.
6. Supporting educational development at Nitzana and Ofek High School.
Ido's memory lives on in the values he cherished—compassion, and the pursuit of a better world.
