Warriors of Iron (Target Date: September 2026) About the Project In the heart of a brutal war, hundreds of Israeli soldiers found their worlds shattered in an instant. Severe physical wounds and invisible psychological scars brought with them a haunting feeling: that they were no longer the "capable" warriors they once were. Israeli Flying Aid (IFA) established the "Warriors of Iron" project in 2024, to prove to them and to the world that the human spirit is stronger than any injury. We don’t just talk about rehabilitation; we embark on a journey to restore the confidence, agency, and strength of those who gave everything for us. The Heart of the Project: Reclaiming Self-Efficacy After two life-changing cohorts, we are now launching Cohort 3. This time, the group is led by Matan Gal, a soldier who was critically wounded during the battle in Kibbutz Be’eri. Matan, who participated in the previous journey as a survivor, returns this time as a leader, inspiring others to follow in his footsteps. Joining him is Dr. Aviv Ben Zvi, the physician who saved Matan’s life under fire on October 7th, closing an emotional circle together on the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. This journey is a profound, months-long process unlike any other:The Group: 16 men and women from various units wounded in the war undergo six months of intensive bonding. From a group of strangers who shared a tragic fate they transform into a powerful, inseparable unit and a family for life. • The Summit: A transformative 10-day expedition to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. There, at the edge of physical and mental endurance, they prove to themselves that they are capable of anything. On that peak they leave their doubts behind and rediscover the iron will within. • The Mission – From Rescued to Rescuer: True healing comes through giving back. Upon their return, the warriors undergo professional search and rescue training conducted in close partnership with the Rescue One school, utilizing their expert knowledge and world-class facilities at Wingate. Those who were rescued from the inferno transform into the ones who save others, deploying on humanitarian missions worldwide with IFA.  Why We Need You Our soldiers have already proven they are made of iron.
