Kibbutz Misgav Am Under Fire - Urgent Action Required

Donors: 122

To our Supporters, As we are sure you know, Israel has been under fire since Operation Roaring Lion began on February 28th, 2026. Kibbutz Misgav Am sits on the Israel-Lebanon border in Northern Israel and has faced constant rocket fire and enemy aircraft intrusion for a month straight. Our families, still healing from the previous evacuation following October 7th, have been stuck in shelters day in and day out, in addition to the unsettling sounds of artillery and rocket fire from our own forces, at times flying right over our heads. 300 lives have come to a complete stop. The streets of the Kibbutz are empty, as families fear to take their children to the park or market. Due to our placement on the border, we only have zero to three seconds to find shelter upon hearing a siren. All this came to a head on March 22nd, when the IDF accidentally fired at Misgav Am, killing one of our beloved residents, Ofer “Poshko” Moskovitz (Z’’L) and destroying a home. At the same time, Hezbollah launched an aggressive attack on Misgav Am, keeping families in their shelters for 6 hours, as constant sirens and explosions filled the air. Following the attack, families were offered refuge at Kibbutz Gadot for seven days, providing a short break from our constant reality of war. While we hold strong as our army forces fight on, we are asking for support from our esteemed regional partners and supporters as we mobilize funds for immediate resources. This includes updating our communal underground bomb shelters to fit the pressing needs of our community. With your support, we can turn these rundown shelters into functioning spaces that we help our community weather this difficult time, including: • Childcare and youth spaces: nursery, preschool, and youth center • Communal: shared space for the residents currently living without a shelter in their home (approximately 90% of residents) • Medical and emergency response: renovated shelters to allow for lifesaving responses in the event of a security or medical emergency. We appreciate your deep commitment to the Upper Galilee Region and its communities. Together, we can ensure Kibbutz Misgav Am carries on and emerges from this war stronger than ever. Am Israel Chai!

On October 7th, our lives changed forever as kibbutzim, society, and country. The massacre on October 7th and the Swords of Iron War changed the reality of our lives and the lives of the residents on the northern border of the country and the western Negev. When the fields burned and the house wa...
