Standing with our Medical Reservists

Since the outbreak of the Iron Swords war, Health, Research and Science in Israel (HRS) has expanded its mission to directly support IDF reservists, security forces, their partners, evacuees, and bereaved families — by providing concrete assistance, personal mentorship, professional guidance, and resilience-building programs,  in the field, during training, and along their professional journeys. 1. Scholarships for aspiring medical students HRS operates a flagship initiative that prepares candidates for medical school in Israel through academic courses, personalized mentorship, and admissions coaching. With many reservists juggling life-threatening service and the demanding admissions process, we step in to ensure they don’t have to give up their dream of becoming physicians. Since October 2023, we’ve awarded over $150,000 in scholarships to reservists. 2. Golden Hour – life-saving medical equipment We’ve delivered over 1,000,000 $  worth of advanced medical equipment directly into the hands of frontline medical teams, boosting their capacity to save lives under extreme conditions. 3. F.E.M – Frontline Emergency Medicine Our trauma and mass casualty workshops, led by emergency physicians, have trained over 3,000 doctors, medics, and paramedics since October 7th — bringing high-level preparedness to those who need it most. 4. PoCUS Course: Scholarships for ultrasound training and clinical instruction — aimed at improving diagnostic, treatment, and life-saving capabilities, with a special focus on strengthening skills in peripheral and high-risk areas in the north.
