The Women of Valor project by Tzalash

I’m running the AJ Bell Great Manchester Half Marathon on May 18th, 2025 – not just to cross a finish line, but to help open the doors to something that doesn’t exist yet… and urgently should. Beit Eishet Chayil is a new initiative under the Israeli nonprofit organisation Tzalash, created to support the wives of active-duty and reserve soldiers, and female soldiers themselves. Since October 7th, the number of women seeking emotional and spiritual support has more than tripled. These women are raising children, holding down homes, managing pregnancies – all while their husbands serve, or while serving themselves. And yet, there is no dedicated space in Israel for them to recharge, connect, and be cared for. No place to rest, talk, cry, breathe. Beit Eishet Chayil will change that. It will be a one-of-a-kind home offering weekly therapy, Torah classes, workshops, beauty treatments, and a support network of women who truly understand each other – offering vital support to thousands of women every year. This isn’t a luxury – it’s a lifeline. Unlike many charities, this support won’t be handed out for free – it will be offered at a discounted rate so these women can receive care with dignity, not dependency. I’m running 21 kilometres to raise £1,500 – and I’m asking you to help me reach that goal. Growing up in Israel, I have seen firsthand what soldiers’ families go through and I have friends living this reality. That’s why I’m lacing up my trainers.
