Brothers For Life - Advances in Orthoplastic Amputation Care Conference 2025

Brothers for Life is a unique non-profit organization founded and run by injured Israeli combat soldiers. Our mission is to provide immediate aid, critical mentorship, and long-term support to both newly injured and veteran Israeli combat soldiers. Since October 7th, Israel has experienced an extreme increase in severe injuries, facing precedential multiple-limb and other complex amputations. requiring cutting-edge, ground-breaking treatments - this is the core mission of Advances in Orthoplastic Amputation Care. Brothers for Life, together with Sheba Tel-HaShomer Hospital, established the first-ever medical conference for orthoplastics treatment for amputation, bringing together leading surgeons, prosthetics and orthopedists from all over the world. Last year, over 80 injured soldiers were provided medical consultations, resulting in 17 life-altering operations. This year, we are focused on providing the best medical solutions for our injured soldiers:- 350 Participants, including 100 amputee soldiers and their family members  - Medical opinions from international and local professionals  - Workshops and lectures for medical and rehabilitation teams - Autopsy workshop to transfer and share practical knowledge with local teams - Life-Altering surgeries conducted by integrated teams for the severly wounded Inspiring Success Stories AOAC 2024: - Y: Severly injured in the war, Y lost one leg and the other was in danger of amputation. In the conference, a greatbreaking and creative solution was put together by the medical experts, and Y was flown to Vienna for surgery that saved his leg. Today, Y walks incredibly and is an active participant in BFL's activities. - A: One of the most severly wounded in the war, A lost three limbs. A arrived to the conference in much pain and funtional disabilities, preventing his ability to reach stages of prosthetic fittings. After extensive medical consultation, it was determined to execute a complex operation, conducted by two international doctors and in collaberation with another eight doctors, hands on. The operation resulted in significant improvement for A, who for the first time since his injury could begin the process of prosthetic fittings.  Thank you for standing by our injured soldiers on their long road to recovery, providing them the best opportunity to get back to living fully, with independence and hope. Our mission will have an impact not only on our injured soldiers, but on the entire amputee community in Israel, and the world.
