Noa's deck

In Loving Memory of Sergeant Noa Lazar Sergeant Noa Lazar z”l was the youngest daughter of Karin and Liron, and a beloved sister to Adi. She was born on October 25, 2003, in Bat Hefer, located in the Hefer Valley of Israel. Noa enlisted in the IDF on March 21, 2022. She served far from home and made a meaningful impact as a combat soldier at the Shuafat checkpoint in East Jerusalem, as part of the Military Police. Her dream was to become a fitness instructor in the army. On Saturday, October 8, 2022, while on duty at the checkpoint, Noa was shot in the back and killed instantly by a terrorist who exited a car and fired a single fatal shot. She was 18 years old. Movement, sport, and breath were essential parts of Noa’s life. She was deeply committed to strengthening both body and mind, and dreamed of creating a space that would bring people together through physical activity. This fundraising campaign will help us take the first and crucial step toward making Noa’s dream a reality: planning and developing “The Deck of Noa” — an inspiring open-air space where people can reconnect with themselves through movement, breath, and nature. Through the Hefer Valley Foundation (a public benefit corporation that leads community development in the region), we aim to build a place that will carry Noa’s name and spirit forward — for the benefit of the local community and the wider public in Israel. To fulfill Noa’s dream of a community-based and inspiring public space, we need your help.
