While the headlines focus on war and security, a quieter but equally urgent crisis is unfolding — a national mental-health emergency affecting thousands of IDF soldiers, reservists, and their families. Many of Israel’s warriors are carrying invisible wounds. Trauma, prolonged stress, and emotional injury are preventing them from returning to daily life, work, family, and stability. This challenge is not only Israeli — it is a shared Jewish responsibility. ‘Phoenix Communities’ was created to build a bridge of healing between Israel and the Jewish world. We are establishing a national network of day-centers for emotional rehabilitation, therapy, and resilience for IDF veterans and their families. The first center will open in Jerusalem at the Givat Ram campus in February 2026, covering approximately 700 square meters, and will serve as a national pilot for future centers across Israel. Our model integrates four essential pillars of healing: ■ Community and resilience through belonging, group activities, and shared rebuilding; ■ Body and movement through a therapeutic gym and Pilates center; ■ Complementary medicine with approximately 15 integrative treatment modalities; ■ Psychological care including individual, couples, and group therapy for soldiers and family members.
