Since October 7th, Israel has endured unimaginable pain and upheaval. Now, with the war expanding to include direct confrontation with Iran and the crisis intensifying across the country, we face yet another wave of uncertainty, fear, and urgent humanitarian need.
While we are physically safe, our hearts remain heavy. Every day brings new stories of loss, displacement, and trauma. Nearly every family is affected — grieving loved ones, worrying for those on the front lines, or supporting evacuees and the injured.
At this critical moment, civil society has once again stepped up. Our volunteers are working around the clock to support families under fire, children and youth in distress, and vulnerable populations across the country. National Service members continue to serve in hospitals, shelters, and at-risk communities — forming the backbone of social resilience in these darkest hours.
We have reassessed the evolving emergency needs in light of the escalation and have updated our list of top priorities, which are outlined below.
In response to the expanding humanitarian needs during the war with Iran, we are urgently supporting three targeted volunteer programs on the frontlines:
• The Rom Rehabilitation Program, launched in memory of Corporal Rom Hecht, is mobilizing trained volunteers to assist those recovering from serious injuries due to rocket attacks from Iran at Sheba Medical Center’s rehabilitation unit. Volunteers provide physical and emotional support to over 100 victims, helping them regain strength and dignity during their healing journey.
• The Bedouin Volunteer Initiative is empowering over 100 young Bedouin women currently volunteering at Soroka Hospital, Magen David Adom, and regional clinics. These volunteers face unique challenges—such as transportation from remote villages and language barriers. With targeted support for medical Hebrew instruction, trauma training, and daily transport, they are becoming a critical asset to Israel’s overstretched healthcare system.
• The French Olim Hub at Sheba Hospital supports 18 new French immigrants who are serving in Israel’s national service during wartime. Many arrived alone, seeking safety and purpose. They now provide companionship, emotional support, and cultural warmth to hospitalized patients, including those wounded in rocket attacks. The program offers housing, Hebrew classes, and emotional support for these dedicated young women.
These life-saving volunteer programs urgently need funding for housing, training, transportation, and therapeutic activities. Your support today will directly impact the lives of both victims and volunteers—and strengthen Israel’s resilience in its most trying hour.
We urgently need your support. Your generosity has sustained us through previous waves of hardship. Today, your help can ensure we meet the overwhelming needs arising from this war — providing aid, emotional support, education, and safety to those most affected.
