Resilience and Calm at Camp Shutaf

Camp Shutaf must happen this August! We’re not giving in, even though this wartime period has been like COVID-on-steroids for Israeli children with disabilities and their families. Life, let alone school programs, have been on hold, and running in and out of sheltered spaces and coping with loud booming sounds has been deeply unsettling and frightening for everyone. We won’t let August be the loneliest month this summer.  Most special education programs run through July. August is the hardest month for children with disabilities and their families when there are no programs, especially not for that child who needs extra support because of developmental differences or behavioral challenges. This year? There are so many unknowns. Shutaf is a familiar place, something known that campers and families can trust during a difficult time. YOUR Help will make the difference this summer. Together, we can make August a month of recovery and fun for Shutaf campers with disabilities. At Shutaf, we believe in kids with disabilities (and their families). Because their needs never go away, especially not during wartime.
