Support the Renewal of Kibbutz Yiron
By The Kibbutz Movement Rehabilitation Fund
Help us return home and grow!
Amid the green Galilee hills, very close to the Lebanese border, lies Kibbutz Yiron.
The kibbutz was established on May 20, 1949, by a group of highly motivated Zionist pioneers who came to settle this desolate region. With determination, perseverance, and despite lacking financial means, they built a beautiful and thriving kibbutz.
On October 8, 2023, the community was evacuated from their homes. We lived for over a year and a half in hotels, rented apartments, and various places across the country. Recently, some of us — individuals and families — have begun returning to Yiron, though not all have come back yet.
We want to grow, to create new community activities — to return home!
We are now launching a fundraising campaign for the renewal of Kibbutz Yiron.
A donation to Yiron will lead to new activities, community revitalization, and a sense of growth for all members of our community!
Being evacuated disconnected us from our homes. During the war, we were unable to reach our houses.
The kibbutz suffered damage to many homes. Moreover, attractions that once operated here — such as the Agam HaChai (Living Pond), a tourist site including a pond and a zoo that also served as a rehabilitation center for injured wild animals, and the guesthouse "Shalva al HaHar" (Serenity on the Mountain) — have not resumed operation due to severe damages.
The local emergency response team and IDF soldiers protected the community, sometimes under fire from Lebanon. They extinguished fires in the kibbutz and surrounding forests and helped neighboring communities such as Avivim.
But above all, the war struck at the heart of our community.
For long months, we lived far from Yiron. We spent holidays apart in other towns, without the traditions we were raised on.
Children who didn’t see each other for months, friends who lost touch, elderly people who coped alone with longing. Sadly, we also lost several dear members and friends over the course of this year.
We found ourselves in unfamiliar places, asking: How long will this situation continue?
Now, we face the challenge of returning home — to a community that was (almost) abandoned for a long time. It’s not easy, but this is our mission.
Our Vision
To bring our community back to its natural place, so that every person can feel happy in their home and in communal life.
Now, more than ever, we need your support to turn this dream into reality.
Your donation will help us carry out the many activities needed for social bonding, strengthening, and returning to meaningful daily life — both for individuals and for the community.
It will ensure that everyone returning home comes back to a safe, proud community, and help us build meaning for a better and safer future.
Join Us!
This is your moment to be part of a story of resilience, unity, and hope — a community rebuilding itself!
Together, we will rebuild Yiron and restore the Zionist spirit that is so important in this region today.
We are deeply grateful to the IDF soldiers who protected our home for so long and are now enabling us to return.
